  • How can I get involved with My Brother's Keeper Outreach Center?
Join us in our mission to provide a place of hope for those in crisis. You can get involved by donating funds, food pantry items, or time as an individual or with a group.
  • What happens with donated funds?
When you donate funds, MBK is able to stock our food pantry and provide qualified clients with financial literacy education and assistance with rent, mortgage, utilities, critical household items, and daily necessities. You can also double your impact if your employer offers a corporate matching gift program.
  • What is a corporate matching gift?
Corporate matching gifts are a type of philanthropy in which companies financially match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations. When an employee makes a donation, they’ll request the matching gift from their employer, who then makes their own donation. Companies usually match donations at a 1:1 ratio, but some will match at a 2:1, 3:1, or even a 4:1 ratio. Please check the details of your employer policy for details regarding match ratio, minimum donation, and request procedures. MBK is happy to provide any documentation required for the process.
  • What types of monetary donations do you accept?
We can accept the following types of monetary donations: In Person Checks - made to 'My Brother's Keeper Outreach Center' Online Credit Cards accepted through PayPal Other Stocks - liquidate the securities and provide the proceeds to MBK Amazon Smile Program - select MBK as your designated charity
  • What happens with donated items?
When you donate approved items, MBK is able to provide qualified clients access to nutritious perishable and non-perishable food through our Food Pantry program, school supplies to students, Thanksgiving groceries for families, and Christmas gifts for children. You can also host a drive as an individual or group (company, church, organization, etc.) to support any of these efforts.
  • Do you need volunteers?
Yes. When you donate time by volunteering, MBK is able to provide high quality programs and services, while keeping operational costs low. You can also turn your time into monetary donations if your company offers volunteer grants for employee time.
